Alan is a partner in the Communications, Technology & Mobile group, the Corporate group, the Antitrust & Competition Law group, the Government Relations/Political Law group and the Sports Law group. Alan practices regularly in front of the FCC, and is nationally recognized for his advocacy and transactional skills. Alan’s clients’ success rate in FCC proceedings and other advocacy matters is extremely high, and Alan also handles an array of transactional matters relating to technology and telecommunications-related agreements.
Jonathan Canis is a partner in the firm’s Communications and Energy practices, where he represents voice, data, and Internet service companies, mobile service providers, renewable energy companies, and Native American Tribes. Jon’s practice includes:
Michael B. Hazzard is a partner in the Communications, Technology & Mobile Group. He is an internationally recognized legal and policy expert in the application of law and regulation to evolving technological deployment models involving cloud communications, Software as a Service, and mobile applications. Mike is one a select few lawyers with the breadth and depth of experience to represent emerging communications companies’ multiple legal verticals, including corporate formation, deal negotiations, government investigation, regulatory policy, and federal court litigation.
Stephanie Joyce is a partner in the communications, technology & mobile group. She has an extensive background in business and consumer protection litigation within the telecommunications space. In addition, she provides transactional and regulatory counsel to her clients, including a major provider of wholesale and retail VoIP service, and is experienced in negotiating contracts for the provision of backbone and content services. Stephanie also assists a client in the data analytics industry with transactions and licensing matters.
Jeff Rummel is a partner in the firm’s Regulatory Department and the firm’s Communications, Technology & Mobile, Government Contractor Services, Government Relations, and Political Law practice groups. Jeff focuses on telecommunications and other regulatory and legislative matters, and represents service providers, government contractors, equipment manufacturers, and users. His practice extends to the federal and state courts and state public utility commissions. Jeff is also the head of the firm's Public Safety, Homeland Security and Defense group.
Katherine Barker Marshall is an associate in the Communications, Technology & Mobile practice group. Katherine advises various types of clients including wireless carriers, wireline carriers, including carriers’ carriers, and VoIP (voice over Internet protocol) providers on state and federal regulatory issues.
Adam Bowser is an associate in the Communications, Technology and Mobile group. Adam litigates commercial disputes in federal, state, and administrative tribunals, with a particular emphasis on cases for competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs) and technology and software companies against incumbent carriers and class-action litigation arising out of consumer-protection and privacy laws, particularly the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. Adam also advises companies that are facing investigations initiated by the Federal Trade Commission related to the Telemarketing Sales Rule.
