Adam Bowser is an associate in the Communications, Technology and Mobile group. Adam litigates commercial disputes in federal, state, and administrative tribunals, with a particular emphasis on cases for competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs) and technology and software companies against incumbent carriers and class-action litigation arising out of consumer-protection and privacy laws, particularly the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. Adam also advises companies that are facing investigations initiated by the Federal Trade Commission related to the Telemarketing Sales Rule. Adam serves as outside general counsel to CLECs and software-platform providers specializing in the growing VoIP services market, and as part of that role, Adam guides companies through the federal and state regulatory process, tax and privacy law, and negotiates and drafts communications-related contracts, including interconnection agreements, commercial agreements, and tariffs.
Adam also advises carriers and equipment manufacturers on regulatory compliance issues concerning telecommunications and energy-efficiency regulations before the Federal Communications Commission, the Department of Energy, the Federal Trade Commission and comparable state regulatory agencies, as well as counseling clients in related rulemaking proceedings.
Prior to joining Arent Fox, Adam practiced at a large regional law firm, focusing on general business litigation and telecommunications law.
Life Beyond the Law
Adam spends his free time chasing after his two young daughters while trying to teach them the two most beautiful words in the English language: Touchdown, Steelers. After the 2013 season, many people have complimented Adam on how quiet his children are.
